President General Welcome Address
Welcome
to the website of Ebonyians in Diaspora Organization (EiDO). EiDO is a
non-poltical organization birthed by the dire need to have a common leadership
structure for all Ebonyi State (of Nigeria) indigenes living outside the
country. As a body, our focus are multifaceted, encompassing historical,
cultural, social, religious, educational, and philanthropic elements. EIDO
plays a crucial role in preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Ebonyi
State, fostering a sense of identity and belonging amongst our members, and
contributing positively to both our host countries and Nigeria. Through our
programmes and initiatives, EIDO ensures that the legacies of our heritage
continues to thrive across generations. Crucially, EIDO advocates for the
protection of human rights for African diaspora communities, provides legal and
social support, and fosters justice and equality through education, advocacy,
and collaboration.
In
order to effectively undertake and execute her socio-economic projects &
programs while ensuring that the life, welfare and rights of Ebonyians are
respected & protected, both at home and abroad, EDIO has chapters in
various countries of the world where Ebonyians reside. We are governed by the
EIDO country and central executive committees; our strategy for ensuring that
we remain a dynamic and influential force in global and national contexts as
pursue legitimate interest of EIDO, both home and abroad.
EIDO serves multiple purposes, each aimed at supporting the EIDO communities in various countries while fostering connections with our homeland, Ebonyi State - Nigeri. By focusing on cultural preservation, community support, economic development, education, advocacy, philanthropy, knowledge transfer, and bilateral relations, we address the diverse needs and aspirations of Ebonyians both at home and in the diaspora. EIDO leadership encourages all and sundry who identify with our core values, mission and purpose to join forces with us via partnership, collaboration either as individuals, corporate entities or NGOs as we serve the global community.
